The hospital is a purpose built modern facility that replaced the previous antiquated premises in 1999. The practice provides in hours medical cover to Withernsea Hospital.
It has a 12 bedded inpatient ward, x-ray department and a nurse lead minor injuries unit. The ward provides an opportunity to admit patients for assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. Palliative care facilities are also provided. Some patients are transferred from the Acute Hospitals in Hull for further rehabilitation.
The is a daily ward round by one of the doctors from the surgery. As there is no resident medical cover, patients do not normally need high intensity medical involvement.
A small number of outpatient clinics plus many community services(e.g. district nurses, health visitors) are also based at Withernsea Hospital. Further inforation is available from East Riding Yorkshire PCT.
